Starbucks is bringing some Halloween nostalgia to Toronto this year, with a new chocolatey drink and the return of an iconic television character. Salem, the sarcastic talking cat from Sabrina the Teenage Witch, is coming out of retirement to star in the coffee chain’s latest Halloween campaign.
The new Black Cat Frappuccino Blended Beverage features a rich, cocoa-layered Crème Frappuccino with brownie-like notes, topped with whipped cream and chocolatey cat ears. Starbucks is calling it a “purr-fect” Halloween treat, with the playful topping giving the chocolatey drink a festive twist.
The Black Cat Frappuccino is available from October 22 through October 31, giving fans just 10 days to enjoy the limited-time drink.
It’s offered exclusively in a grande size at select Starbucks locations across Canada, so availability may vary by store. Customers should check with their preferred location before visiting. Starbucks’ Canadian announcement does not specify pricing or allergen information.
Starbucks has also announced a Venti Black Night Cookie for Halloween in the U.S., although its Canadian announcement does not confirm whether the cookie will be available at Canadian locations.
Meanwhile, Salem’s comeback doesn’t end with the drink launch. Starbucks says more content featuring the iconic talking cat is coming to its social media channels, giving fans of Sabrina the Teenage Witch another dose of Halloween nostalgia.
