What to expect at the Art of the Brick exhibit

The ‘Art of The Brick’ exhibition is coming to Toronto for the first time. Don’t miss your chance to see this iconic exhibit, as it’s only in town for a limited time! Tickets have just been released! Grab them here!

Former New York City lawyer turned contemporary artist Nathan Sawaya is the mastermind behind this stunning exhibition that takes these small plastic LEGO® bricks and turns them into larger-than-life works of art.

What we love most about this exhibit is the range of sculptures. You’ll see human figures, landscapes, toys, games, everyday items like shoes and umbrellas transformed into extraordinary art, and even famous paintings recreated in LEGO® bricks.

If you love classic art, you won’t want to miss these works transformed before your eyes. Gustav Klimt’s portrait of ‘The Kiss’ will be on display, along with Michelangelo’s ‘David’ and replicas of Van Gogh’s ‘Starry Night’, Edvard Munch’s ‘The Scream’, and da Vinci’s ‘Mona Lisa’.

Do you have a family member with a penchant for the prehistoric? Then don’t miss the 20-foot tyrannosaurus rex skeleton.

The “PERNiCiEM: The Endangered Species Connection” room showcases 13 larger-than-life animals at this not-to-be-missed exhibition. See displays that take you inside these creatures’ habitats, including the snow-capped polar bear, a trio of elephants, a Malayan tiger on the prowl, humpback whales, lowland gorillas, beautiful flamingos, and so much more!

Of course, Sawaya’s most famous work will be on display in Toronto. The sculpture Yellow features the torso of a male who rips open his chest to reveal hundreds of LEGO® bricks pouring from it.
