There’s nothing more peaceful than wandering through fields of lavender blooms, and one farm near Toronto is letting you visit for free one day this month!
Avalon Lavender Farm, found just over an hour’s drive north of the city in Mono, Ontario, is inviting all to stop by before the summer ends.
On Sunday, August 11, they’re giving back to the community with free admission to visit, where you can stroll through fields of lavender blooms, meet farm animals like rabbits, chickens, ducks and horses, enjoy a picnic in the fields, or take a walk down the scenic river path.
For an additional fee of $10, you can also cut your own lavender flowers and take a bundle home!
On your way out, be sure to check out the Heritage Barn Boutique for lavender-themed gifts and goodies, including a scoop of their delicious lemon lavender ice cream.
A visit to the farm is the perfect way to escape the city’s hustle and bustle for some much needed rest and relaxation.
For those who don’t have a method of transportation, you can instead visit on a Saturday and take a bus from Balzac’s in Liberty Village. While those dates will not offer free admission, you at least won’t have to worry about driving and can sit back and relax!
