A magical countryside escape filled with fragrant purple blooms reopens in just a week from now, bringing back the ultimate peaceful daytrip for the summer.
Starting on June 18, 2026, Avalon Lavender Farm welcomes back visitors for the season, offering Toronto residents one of the most unique and picturesque ways to welcome the warm weather.
This stunning family-run farm is packed with more than 30,000 lavender plants. Spanning across a gorgeous rural landscape just an hour north of the city, the grounds feature seven different cultivars of English and French lavender, carefully planted in rows of deep purple and soft mauve. A historic, fully restored 1881 Heritage Barn stands at the center of the property, ready to welcome guests with handmade, lavender-infused products.
This year, the farm is bringing back its popular “cut-your-own” lavender experience, allowing you to harvest your own fresh bundle to take home. The experience is designed to help city slickers slow down, but while you can easily spend hours taking photos, the farm also hosts special events to elevate your visit.
Guests can book an elegant High Tea experience right in the middle of the blooming fields, complete with artisanal treats and optional wine pairings. If you are looking to truly unwind, your field admission also grants you access to complimentary evening yoga sessions, held at 6:00 p.m. inside a gigantic 100-foot Celtic Stone Circle.
The picturesque location features a winding River Walk along the Nottawasaga River, an on-site honey apiary, and a herd of friendly rescue animals including horses and free-range hens that love being lavished with attention.
