You’ve heard of corn mazes and hedge mazes before, but have you ever seen a sunflower maze?
Well, now’s your chance, as there is a giant one right here in Ontario not too far from Toronto!
Bragg Farms is an 8th generation family-owned farm located in Bowmanville, located around a 1-hour drive from the city.
Evolving over the years, Bragg’s Wild Birdseed was established in 1991, and has now become known for its sunflower experiences in late summer, as well as their pick-your-own-potatoes events in the fall.
This summer, the sunflowers have bloomed a week ahead of schedule as of July 20, so the fields are now open 7 days a week for the public to stop by for an epic photo opp.
The farm is a popular destination for birdwatchers and photographers, who often come to try to spot the rare indigo bunting birds among the fields. If you practice yoga, Braggs offers both morning and evening yoga sessions open to all levels. All you need is a yoga mat!
While the maze is not so much a maze as it is a giant sunflower-shaped cut out of walking paths among the flowers, it is breathtaking to wander through nonetheless!
You can also book your own personal photoshoot among the blossoms for an additional cost of $50 per hour excluding tax.
For those who just want to come and marvel at the fields, general admission is $10 per person. The sunflowers typically only last from 3-4 weeks, so now is the best time to plan your visit!
The fields are open to the public daily, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., or if you want to bring your dog, they have a special dog-walking hour from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.
