In case you needed another reason to love Canada, our country has officially been crowned the most loved country in the world, according to this global survey on World Atlas.
The Reputation Institute, an international consulting firm based in Copenhagen and Boston, assesses countries yearly based on a number of factors. Over the years, Canada has consistently ranked high due to its positive international reputation, particularly in areas like natural beauty, multiculturalism, and perceived safety and kindness.
Based on findings from an online survey of 48,000 consumers from G8 countries and another 30,000 interviewees from non-G8 countries, respondents are asked questions such as how much they admire a country, trust, and overall positive feelings towards them.
Canada emerged as the global leader with an impressive reputation score of 78.1, coming out on top above countries like Norway, Switzerland, and Australia.
The report gauges countries based on three main pillars: effective government, appealing environment, and an advanced economy. Canada excelled in all areas, with its breathtaking natural landscapes, strong political stability, and inclusive multicultural society earning high marks from respondents around the world.
Canada’s rise to the top is no surprise. It has consistently ranked among the world’s most respected nations, previously holding second place in 2010 and 2014. The country’s scenic beauty, from the Rocky Mountains to its vast forests and lakes, along with a friendly, diverse population and a safe, welcoming atmosphere, continues to resonate with people globally.
Additionally, Canada ranks 11th among the world’s largest economies and is lauded for its high quality of life, stable democracy, and commitment to equality and human rights.
Interview data shows that people from around the world view Canada as a desirable place to visit, work, study, and live. Its multicultural population includes people of European, Asian, Indigenous, Black, Latin American, and mixed ancestry, contributing to a rich, inclusive culture admired on the international stage.

While most top-ranked nations are located in the Northern Hemisphere, the absence of the United States from the top 20 came as a surprise to many, due to recent political and judicial controversies affecting global perception.
