It seems the whole country is rallying behind the Toronto Blue Jays this weekend as they get ready to take on the Los Angeles Dodgers at the historic World Series. That includes one of the GTA’s most iconic landmarks, which will be changing its colours in support of the team.
Canada’s Wonderland has given its famous Wonder Mountain a temporary makeover, lighting it up in “Blue Jays BLUE” during the Toronto Blue Jays’ historic postseason run.
The country’s largest theme park took to its socials to announce the change, writing that visitors will be able to see it every night during their seasonal Halloween Haunt experience. In addition to Wonder Mountain, the towering Windseeker ride will also be illuminated in brilliant blue and white light.
While the main feature is the massive illumination, the park is adding other festive touches. Wonderland staff will also be wearing Toronto Blue Jays baseball caps on game days for the duration of the Halloween Haunt event.
For now, you can see the themed lights from October 23 through October 26. If the series continue to seven games, the park will extend the lighting next week from October 30 through November 1.
Besides Wonderland, many other local businesses and services are showing their support. This includes other Toronto sports teams temporarily changing their profile pictures with Blue Jays signage worked in, Nathan Phillips Square lighting up the TORONTO sign in blue and white, and bars and restaurants serving up limited-edition Blue Jays-inspired menus.
