Canadian Swifties residing in the Eastern Time zone were (and currently still are) facing a problem they know All Too Well.
Just as tickets to Taylor Swift’s “The Official Release Party of a Showgirl” were to drop at 3 p.m. ET on Cineplex’s website, frustrated users reported the website crashing on various social media sites.
“Cineplex is down. Swifties are really built different haha”, one user wrote on X.
“Cineplex crashing 🙁 I think I’ve seen this film before and I didn’t like the ending :(((((((” said another.
Cineplex responded on their Instagram stories just after 3:30 p.m. ET, more than 30 minutes after the tickets were supposed to be released, writing, “We’re aware of the issue on our end wit our website and app. We are working on having the issue fixed. We apologize for the inconvenience.”
At the time of publishing, the website has still not been fixed.
Announced last Friday, September 19, Taylor revealed that “The Official Release Party of a Showgirl” will be screening at participating Cineplex theatres for one weekend only, from October 3 through 5, following the album release of “The Life of a Showgirl” on October 3.
The 90-minute film will feature the world premiere for “The Fate of Ophelia,” music video, behind-the-scenes footage, brand-new lyric videos for new song tracks, and Taylor’s personal reflections on the new album.
Tickets to the release party are priced at $16 per ticket with an additional $1.50 booking fee.
Fingers crossed the issue is resolved soon and that securing tickets will be a bit easier than scoring some to the Eras Tour!
