May is just around the corner, which means the re-opening of so many seasonal attractions and activities!
One of Toronto’s favourite summer pastimes is a daytrip to the Toronto Islands, and Centreville Amusement Park is gearing up to officially reopen for the season next month.
The family-friendly destination on Centre Island will welcome visitors back as of Saturday, May 3, and tickets are already available for sale on their website.
Centreville Amusement Park features over 30 rides and attractions, including bumper boats, an antique carousel, Scrambler, and log ride. There’s also a splash pad to cool off at during hotter summer days, a miniature golf course, Centreville train, and leisurely swan rides on the pond.
Meet over 40 species of adorable farm animals and exotic birds at Far Enough Farm, located in the heart of Centreville Amusement Park.
After you’ve worked up an appetite, grab a bite to eat at one of the amusement park’s 14 food outlets, offering classic carnival snacks like popcorn and funnel cake to more substantial meals like pizza and sandwiches.
According to the park’s online calendar, Centreville will be open only on weekends and the Victoria Day Monday for the month of May, before opening daily in June.
For the first two weekends, the park will operate from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. before extending its hours later in the month. For the full dates and hours, see their calendar here.
To get to Centreville from downtown Toronto, you can take the ferry from the Jack Layton Ferry Terminal at 9 Queen’s Quay West to Centre Island, which depart from the foot of Bay Street. Alternatively, you can take a water taxi from Yonge St. or Bay St. docks to Centre Island.
As for tickets to Centreville Amusement Park, an All Day Ride Pass is priced at $35.18 + tax for guests under 4 feet tall, and $44.25 + tax for those over 4 feet tall. A pass for a family of 4 is priced at $146.90 + tax, which you can purchase online here.
