A massive coffee-themed festival is coming to downtown Toronto this fall, bringing a multi-floor caffeine haven directly to the heart of the city.
From October 16 to 18, Canada’s Coffee Culture Festival hosted by De Mello Coffee will transform the historic Design Exchange into “Coffee City,” a sprawling weekend pop-up built entirely around coffee culture.

Spanning three whole floors, the immersive experience invites guests to step into a living, breathing coffee capital. Attendees can wander through distinct neighbourhood setups, including cozy home-brewing spaces, bustling café counters, and an outdoor coffee corner, all while snapping photos at coffee landmarks along the way.
At the center of it all, visitors can watch Canada’s top baristas battle live at the Canadian National Latte Art Championship. Running all three days right on the main floor, the high-stakes competition will decide who will represent the country on the world stage.
Upstairs, festival-goers can opt into hands-on interactive workshops available on-site. You’ll have the chance to mix up coffee-infused drinks at a cocktail-bar-style session, learn step-by-step latte art techniques directly from a barista, or sample beans from ten Canadian roasteries to blend a custom bag to take home.
General admission to explore Coffee City is completely free, though attendees are encouraged to reserve a free pass online in advance, as popular time slots are expected to fill up fast. Select ticketed events will be sold separately.
The Coffee Culture Festival takes place at the Design Exchange (234 Bay St.) from October 16 to 18.
