Get ready to lace up your skates, Toronto!
Hangar Skate is making its grand return to YZD next month, taking over the old airplane hangar for its fourth and biggest year yet. Running from December 19, 2025, to February 16, 2026, the annual event is bringing back its massive 6,000 sq. ft. rink, complemented by an exciting lineup of free winter festivities this season.

Embrace your Canadian spirit with free ice skating and cozy winter vibes. For those that don’t own their own equipment, you can rent and sharpen skates onsite for just $5!
The theme of the year is Fire & Ice, and the rink will be transformed into an “enchanted forest alive with LED performances and icy soundscapes.” According to YZD, the event will feature a wide variety of complimentary activities designed for all ages, including dazzling fire performances, live musicians, dedicated snow-play zones, and creative arts workshops. Visitors can also look forward to local eats and drinks available on site.
Throughout the season, you can also catch a number of special themed events.

Friday nights from 5 to 9 p.m. will transform into an ice dance party perfect for date night or an outing with friends, featuring DJ sets curated in collaboration with The Remix Project. Saturday afternoons, running from noon to 5 p.m., will be especially family-friendly, highlighted by a drop-in learn-to-skate lesson offered from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday afternoons offer a similar schedule, along with another opportunity to join a drop-in lesson.
Later this winter, you can also look forward to event days over Valentine’s and Family Day weekend. On Saturday, February 14, the rink will host its Dynamic Duos Fire & Ice event, pairing fire-and-ice performances with a cozy indoor card-making activity. The season will conclude on Family Day, Monday, February 16, with a mix of free activities for all ages and a live DJ set from DJ MeTime.
You can find Hangar Skate located at 34 Hanover Rd in North York.
