Nestled along the Caledon Escarpment between Caledon East and Inglewood, Dixie Orchards is home to one of the only pick-your-own hazelnut farms in Eastern Canada. Visitors can also pick apples, explore a large pumpkin patch, and enjoy classic fall activities, making it a unique autumn day trip near Toronto.
Apple varieties ripen at different times throughout the season, so availability changes regularly. If you’re after a specific variety, check the farm’s fruit guide before visiting.
Beyond the orchard, the farm features a pumpkin patch, sunflower fields, and a wagon ride to the corn maze and farm attractions, though everything is also within walking distance.
Pick-your-own produce costs extra beyond admission, so plan accordingly—especially if you’re visiting for the farm’s rare pick-your-own hazelnuts.

Trip Planning
The farm market offers freshly harvested apples, hazelnuts, and pumpkins, along with jam, honey, maple syrup, candy apples, and baked goods. Visitors can also view farm animals, though the farm notes it is not a petting zoo.
Before visiting, note that large bags, backpacks, and outside picnics are not permitted, and ponds and water features are off-limits. Dogs are generally not permitted on the farm, though leashed pets are allowed in the sunflower fields during sunflower season. As a working farm, uneven ground and occasional farm vehicles are part of the experience.
The season began August 26 and runs through the fall, making it an easy day trip just 55 kilometres from Toronto. Wear shoes suited for dirt paths, and if pick-your-own hazelnuts are a priority, visit earlier in the season.
