One Unionville restaurant staff and patrons were in for a huge shock this week, when pop superstar Dua Lipa made an unexpected visit during her Toronto tour dates.
Watercolour Restaurant, an upscale Mediterranean destination located in the charming Markham village on historic Main Street, welcomed Dua and her team for a lavish lunch on on Tuesday, September 2.
The Grammy-winning singer, known for ultra-catchy chart-topping hits like Levitating and Don’t Start Now, was in the city playing back-to-back shows at a packed Scotiabank Arena on September 1 and 2.
While anyone who follows the star on social media knows she sure loves travelling and trying new foods, her visit to Watercolour Restaurant was a pleasant surprise to locals, restaurant staff, and fans alike, with many praising the singer for choosing a beloved York Region restaurant during her Canadian tour stop.
Unionville is also no stranger to A-list celebrity visits, often serving as the backdrop for films and TV shows, including Gilmore Girls’ iconic Stars Hollow.
Watercolour Restaurant also now has a little extra star power attached to its name, thanks to Dua Lipa’s appearance.
For those who’d like to eat like Dua Lipa, Watercolour’s menu offers a mix of fresh seafood, fine wines, steak, pasta, fine wines, and much more. With Dua Lipa’s stamp of approval, it may be even harder to snag a table in the coming weeks, so book your table soon!
