For nearly a century, the iconic Fairmont Royal York in Toronto has been one of the city’s go-to destinations for holiday magic.
This year for 2025, the historic hotel is transforming into an “Enchanted Winter Estate,” inviting guests and visitors to immerse themselves in a dreamy holiday escape filled with cherished festive traditions, gourmet culinary delights, and glittering displays that make for the perfect photo-op.

If you’re searching for a luxurious and memorable way to celebrate this season, the Fairmont is a must-visit destination in the heart of Toronto.
The Fairmont’s spectacular annual tree lighting ceremony took place yesterday November 19, marking 96 years of the beloved tradition. From now through early January, you can stop by the hotel to take in the glittering, “snow-covered” evergreen trees found throughout the Grand Lobby, as well as the towering centrepiece adorned with twinkling lights, elegant decorations, and massive nutcrackers.
Grab a glass of champagne or signature seasonal cocktail at CLOCKWORK, the lobby lounge, which has been decorated as a winter garden gazebo complete with icy crystals and lush greenery. Beyond cocktails, you can opt for the hotel’s new Festive Afternoon Tea at CLOCKWORK experience, presented in partnership with Jo Malone London.

Inspired by the brand’s Sandalwood & Spiced Apricot scent, the tea features seasonal treats like warm candied ginger and cranberry scones and sweets such as Ginger Snowfall Cherry Cocoa. This special tea is served Fridays through Sundays from November 21 to January 4, with Friday guests receiving an exclusive Jo Malone London gift, and $2 from every tea sold being donated to Make-A-Wish International.
For families, don’t miss the Festive Fun for Families activation, running daily from December 19 to January 3. Children and parents can enjoy daily gingerbread cookie decorating, participate in holiday crafts and activities, and snap photos against the decorated Balsam Hill Christmas trees. Hotel guests can also enjoy special visits from Santa on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
Also not to be missed is the Fairmont’s culinary offerings during the holidays, offered at the hotel restaurant REIGN. Guests can indulge in a three-course Festive Lunch available on weekdays from December 1 to 12 for $65 per person. Holiday Brunch Specials will also be available à la carte later next month from December 26 to 28, with decadent dishes such as Gingerbread French Toast and Lobster & Tarragon “Croast.”
Finally, guests are invited to gather for a special Festive Dinner on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day at REIGN, with menu features like Manor House Turkey and indulgent Mont Blanc dessert.
