Canada’s largest celebration of all things pop culture is taking over the city this coming weekend.
For four days straight, FAN EXPO returns to Toronto for its 30th anniversary, bringing together thousands of anime, sci-fi, horror, gaming, and comic lovers under one huge roof. Spanning hundreds of thousands of square feet, the Metro Toronto Convention Centre will transform into a buzzing hub of celebrity meet-and-greets, immersive photo ops, floor-wide cosplay competitions, and endless shopping from local artists and vendors.
Over 130,000 attendees are expected to fill the halls, showcasing intricate handmade costumes, competing in the Masters of Cosplay competition, or diving into hands-on workshops and tabletop gaming sessions.
The main event features a lineup of star-studded panels and rare appearance opportunities. This year’s stacked guest list features sci-fi royalty Mark Hamill, a full Lord of the Rings hobbit reunion with Elijah Wood and Sean Astin, alongside WWE-star-turned-actor John Cena and pop culture icon Mel Gibson. Attendees can snap a photo with their favourite stars, get an autograph, or listen in on behind-the-scenes stories during main stage Q&A sessions.
While tickets range depending on the single-day or multi-day pass you select, the event offers endless entertainment for attendees of all ages. Beyond the main stages, you’ll find an expansive Artist Alley stocked with original fan art, limited-edition collectibles, rare comic books, and custom apparel.
FAN EXPO Canada will take over the Metro Toronto Convention Centre (255 Front St. W.) from August 27 to August 30. Show hours vary by day, starting Thursday afternoon and running through Sunday evening.
