The three-hour Glass Pumpkin Workshop runs from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on October 27 and October 29, giving participants the chance to create both a solid glass pumpkin and a blown glass pumpkin.
No experience is required. Facilitated by Artists-in-Residence, the small-group sessions are limited to eight participants, allowing for plenty of hands-on guidance as you work with hot glass while learning the fundamentals of glassmaking. All materials are included in the $150 admission fee, making it an accessible way to try glassmaking without any prior experience or specialized equipment.
One thing to keep in mind is that you won’t take your creations home the same day. Because the glass must cool slowly, finished pumpkins are available for pickup two to three days later, adding a bit of anticipation as you wait to see how your handmade pieces turned out.
The workshop takes place at Harbourfront Centre’s Craft & Design Studio at 235 Queens Quay West. Open to those 18 and older, registration closes 48 hours before each session, and with just eight spots available per workshop, spaces are limited.
Whether you’re looking for a unique seasonal activity or a creative date night, it’s a hands-on way to celebrate fall.
