If you thought Easter egg hunts were just for kids, think again!
Toronto’s most epic Easter treasure hunt is back this weekend, and this year, The Grand Order of Divine Sweets (The GOoDS) are upping the stakes.
On April 12, the chocolate shop known for their fandom-inspired chocolates, cookies, and desserts will be hiding ten treasure chests across the city, each containing a scroll with a special prize to be redeemed at their Queen Street cafe.
And that’s not all—this year, the hunt features two Grand Prize Chocolate Smash Eggs filled with cash: one worth $1000 and the other $500!
The hunt begins at 10 a.m. and participants should follow the GOoDS on Instagram and Facebook for location clues and updates throughout the day.
From there, the first person to find a chest and bring it to The GOoDS cafe at 1162 Queen St W will claim their prize. Plus, hundreds of additional prizes will be up for grabs at the cafe’s Easter Basket draw, which will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on April 12.
The event is free and open to everyone, with the only requirement being that participants must be 18 or older to win a treasure chest prize.
While the hunt takes place in public, outdoor locations, all treasure chests are placed in accessible areas, rain or shine. Just keep in mind that each scroll found corresponds to a specific prize, which must be redeemed by 7 p.m. on April 12.
For an extra clue, stop by the cafe before April 12 and chat with the staff to get a head start. If you can’t make the hunt, don’t worry, you can still visit the cafe that day between 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. to pick up a festive Easter-themed treat and join in the prize draw.
Happy hunting, Toronto!
