You may have tried “Cronuts” or “Croffles” before, but have you heard of the latest viral sensation called “Crookies”?
The newest craze to hit the city is just what you’d imagine: a delicious blend of a croissant-meets-cookie in the form of the delicate, airy French pastry filled with cookie dough, finished with a baked chocolate chip cookie on top.
The creation by local bakery and boulangerie Gouter Patisserie has found Internet stardom, after droolworthy clips have been shared and re-shared on various social media platforms lately.
Due to their popularity, however, the Crookies have been notoriously hard to get your hands on.
But now, this Saturday March 9, you’ll finally get your chance, as Gouter is partnering up with local Toronto boutique Snapture This for a one-day pop-up in celebration of the latter’s Shopiversary.
The event will take place at the Snapture This storefront found at 112 Elizabeth St, and will have free coffee, discounts on the shop’s goods (paper goods, florals, and gifts), swag and freebies, and limited quantities of Gouter’s baked goods, including the viral Crookie.
If you’re ONLY looking to get some cookie croissants to take home, the Crookies are also available for pick-up at Gouter’s three locations in Toronto.
Knowing Toronto and their penchant for viral foods, you can expect line-ups at the Snapture This pop-up, and the Crookies will be available only on a first-come first-served basis between 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
For those who don’t want to risk disappointment, you can also secure yours via pre-order by March 7 on Gouter’s website, which are available both at Snapture This and Gouter locations for pick-up.
