The Halton County Radial Railway experience begins aboard one of the museum’s beautifully restored vintage streetcars. After a brief safety announcement delivered in period-appropriate style, the car hums to life and rolls into the forest, where you’ll spend the next 20 minutes gliding beneath a canopy of hardwood trees on the same rails used decades ago. Seated on original wooden benches, it’s easy to imagine what commuting looked like generations ago.
Midway through the journey, the streetcar stops at a charming station, where a vintage streetcar has been transformed into an old-fashioned ice cream shop. It’s the perfect place to enjoy a soft-serve cone before continuing your ride through this one-of-a-kind living museum.
Home to more than 75 historic electric transit vehicles, this museum offers a rare chance to experience Toronto‘s transportation history firsthand. Visitors can ride vintage streetcars and historic interurban rail cars, while classic subway cars and other transit vehicles are on display.
Unlike a traditional museum, many of these historic vehicles remain fully operational. Carefully preserved and maintained, they continue to carry visitors through the surrounding forest, offering an authentic glimpse into an era of electric transit that once shaped the region.

- Hours: Open weekends and holidays in May, June, September, and October, plus Thursday through Monday in July and August. Gates open at 10 a.m., with the first streetcar departing at 11 a.m. and the last ride 30 minutes before closing

Admission includes unlimited rides on operating historic streetcars, plus access to the museum grounds, display barns, historic Rockwood Station, and the gift shop. Prices do not include HST
