It seems 2024 is the year of American chain takeovers in Toronto, from Shake Shack’s first Canadian location slated to open possibly very soon, and now, wildly popular sandwich brand Jimmy John’s.
This morning, their parent company Inspire Brands announced Jimmy John’s would open its first location outside of the U.S. within the Greater Toronto Area, with more planned to follow across Canada.
Known for their customizable submarine-style sandwiches, wraps, and assortment of sides and desserts, we can expect most of their same menu items as in the states, as well as a few tweaks that may better appeal to the Canadian market.
The exact location of the first restaurant is yet to be revealed.
Rival sandwich brand Jersey Mike’s also intends to open more than 300 Canadian restaurants in the coming years, with two locations already in Ontario. Jersey Mike’s has not indicated any set locations just yet.
