The June Motel is almost finished their latest transformation, and is already open for business.
Located in the small town of Kimberley just outside of Collingwood, Ontario, The June Beaver Valley is the motel brand’s third location, featuring a quaint, countryside escape surrounded by year-round outdoor experiences.
The trendy boutique motel brand rose to fame over the course of the pandemic, featured on the original Netflix series Motel Makeover.
Viewers followed along as the moteliers April Brown and Sarah Sklash converted an old, rundown roadside motel in Sauble Beach into the popular, consistently sold-out destination it is today.
Sauble Beach was the second June Motel location opening in 2020, in addition to their first motel in Prince Edward County which opened back in 2017.
Known for their 1970s aesthetic inspired by mid-century motor lodges, The June Beaver Valley has taken on a more rustic vibe in comparison to their first two locations.
Inspired by the surrounding area, Beaver Valley is reminiscent of a vintage country lodge, mixing colours, patterns, and textures.
Old vintage pieces come together to give it a bit more character, and a “country girl aesthetic”, as Brown describes in their latest Webisode on Instagram.
“This destination is all about reconnecting with nature and playing outside all year long. We’re only 25 minutes to Blue Mountain and Le Scandinave Spa, and have amazing trails out our back door in Kimberley. Being nestled in nature, right along the Beaver River, we’re perfectly situation for enjoying a canoe or kayak experience,” reads the website.
While The June in Prince Edward County features 16 guest rooms and Sauble Beach has 24 guest rooms, Beaver Valley is much smaller, with only 8 rooms.
There’s also a communal parlour for guests to gather in, riverside patio, studio space, and sauna.
With its smaller size, there’s also an option to rent out the entire motel for a special occasion, such as small weddings, reunions, or milestone celebrations.
It’s the perfect place to disconnect while discovering a lesser-frequented small town, with an incredible food scene and countless adventures, from cross-country skiing in the winter to paddling and hiking in the warmer months.
Rates at The June Beaver Valley start at $250 a night, and based on the availability calendar, many spring dates are already sold out!
