One of the most renowned ice cream companies in the province has just announced that they will finally be opening their first store in Toronto, and it’s coming this summer!
Kawartha Dairy, which has been serving ice cream in locations throughout Ontario since first opening in 1937, shockingly has never had a Toronto store, but that’s all about to change.
Last week, the company took to their social media page to announce their plans to open three new stores, one of which includes the Toronto location on the Danforth, found at 888 Danforth Avenue.
Although they have yet to confirm an exact opening date, the post reads it will happen this summer.
Torontonians can currently find Kawartha Dairy products in grocery stores, retail outlets, and partner shops in the city, most of which is made from fresh milk provided by local farms.
From classics like Death by Chocolate and French Vanilla to more creative flavours like Campfire S’mores and Sugar Shack Maple, there’s sure to be something everyone will love!
For those who don’t eat dairy, don’t worry – they also have several sorbets and lactose-free options to try.
The 100% Canadian company is still operated by the same family that started it all, and still has its headquarters in Bobcaygeon, Ontario. Most of the brick-and-mortar shops are found throughout cottage country, including Barrie, Huntsville, Minden, and Lindsay.
In addition to the Toronto shop, Kawartha Dairy will also open stores in Cobourg and Burlington.
As if we needed another reason to be excited for summer 2024!
