The Labour Day holiday is always a bittersweet occasion, marking the last long weekend of the summer season. As a celebration of workers’ achievements, Labour Day is a federal statutory holiday and this year, it falls on Monday September 2nd.
To cap off the weekend, Canada’s Wonderland will be hosting a mesmerizing fireworks show on Sunday, September 1 after the park closes at 10 p.m.
Over 375 people-hours go into the planning and designing of the show, so its sure to be a spectacular way to bid adieu to summer!
The show will be set to an original soundtrack with 11 separate firing positions and 1,800 firing cues, exploding high above Wonder Mountain.
With heights reaching over 800 feet, you can see the show from multiple viewing areas throughout the park and it is suitable for guests of all ages.
The show typically lasts around 15 minutes with over 6,000 colourful bursts.
Before the show, spend the day exploring the park’s 200+ attractions, including looping rollercoasters, Splash Works, and more.
Earlier this month, the theme park unveiled its plans for a new record-breaking rollercoaster set to open next year. Named AlpenFury, the ride is set along a 1,000-metre-long track, and features a dual-launch system reaching speeds of 115 km/h.
There is yet to be an exact launch date for AlpenFury, but you can look forwards to seeing it sometime next summer.
