Summer isn’t leaving just yet, Toronto!
After a stretch of dreary rain and chilly breezes that made it feel like autumn was sneaking in early, some late-summer warmth will make a welcome return to the city next week.
Environment Canada’s long-range forecast shows a shift in the weather pattern, bringing back plenty of sunshine and pushing daytime highs near 30 C. Sunday will bring a jump in temperatures, with a high of 25 C feeling more like 31 C. Monday is expected to be the warmest day of the stretch, with a high of 26 C that could feel like a sweltering 35 C when humidity is factored in. There’s still a chance of scattered showers throughout the day, however.
The heat will carry into the first day of September, when temperatures are forecast to hit 26 C and feel closer to 34 C. For the remainder of the week, daytime temperatures are expected to stay in the mid-20s, while humidity could make it feel more like the low 30s.
This upcoming heat wave will bring ideal conditions for hitting up local patios, lounging at Trinity Bellwoods, or making one last mid-week escape to the harbourfront beaches. Clear skies and warm, stable conditions are expected to linger through the mid-week, offering a sweet reprieve before the cooler autumn temps settle in for good.
While daytime temperatures will feel like peak summer heat, overnight lows are also expected to remain mild, making it the perfect excuse to spend your evenings out on outdoor rooftop dining spots or taking late night strolls around the city.
Be sure to soak up the sun while you can, keep your water bottles handy, and get ready to squeeze out every last drop of summer weather before September arrives.
