A new immersive experience coming to Toronto is about to bring you a blast from the past, once Illuminarium at The Distillery District unveils its latest attraction.
LITE BRITE: Worlds of Wonder, opens next month on May 8, 2024, where you can explore, play games, and create your own art in a 360-degree cinematic journey.
Calling it their “most gamified immersive experience yet”, Illuminarium’s cutting edge technology meets the nostalgia of Lite-Brite, a now-retro toy which initially debuted in 1967.
Comprised of colourful translucent pegs which light up once inserted into a hexagonal light box, the toy’s objective was to create illuminated art.
LITE BRITE: Worlds of Wonder transforms the game into a larger-than-life hour-long experience, featuring interactive lights, twelve gaming stations, and hosts.
Wander through three themed worlds: Ocean World, Dino World, and Future World, where you can engage with various features.
Lidar sensors built into the floors and walls let you make your own personalized motions and designs.
You’ll also have the opportunity to create your own art using classic and giant Lite-Brites, see local Lite-Brite art created by Toronto artists, and purchase a Lite-Brite photo souvenir to take home with you.
The new experience will be open from Tuesday through Sundays from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Tickets can be purchased online, and are priced at $38.50 per adult.
