This new operating park called Bigwind Lake Provincial Park is the first to open in 40 years. Tucked away in the Muskoka region, the park is only 2 and a half hours from Toronto and is set to be open year-round.
Already a non-operating park with a huge lake, lush meadows, marshes, and towering trees, the new renovations will include campground sites, staff, cabins, a visitor centre, and maintained bike and walking routes.
“Bracebridge’s vibrant community and landscape attracts visitors to experience it for themselves, and these new features will help to further strengthen our tourism and hospitality sectors, provide a space for people to connect with nature, and align with our commitment of encouraging long-term economic growth,” said Bracebridge mayor Rick Maloney.
Construction is set to begin fall 2024 but no word on when it’s going to open.
