The weekend, a theatrical pageant of spooky giant handcrafted puppets, live music, and theatrical street performances will take over Toronto’s Dufferin Grove Park, and it’s a spectacle you won’t want to miss!
Clay and Paper Theatre’s Night of Dread is back for its annual October procession, returning a week before Halloween on Saturday, October 24.

From towering stilt walkers and fire spinners to interactive community pageantry, you’ll get to wander through atmospheric park installations, join in on a lively neighbourhood march, and help mock and banish your deepest fears in a truly unique Toronto ritual.
Carry a towering puppet along the procession route, explore the mesmerizing Garden of Tomorrow Today installation, or gather with the crowd for live musical showcases in the park valley. The festival will also feature the unveiled “Fear of the Year” during its main theatrical pageant.

Participation is pay-what-you-can with a suggested donation of $25 per person, which helps support local artists and community theater creation. Grab your warmest coat and dress in black-and-white or your favourite costume, as attendees are encouraged to join right in on the theatrical fun!
Night of Dread will take place at Dufferin Grove Park on Saturday, October 24, with puppet sign-outs beginning at 3:30 p.m. and the main procession kicking off at 6 p.m.
