Summer is flying by, and there’s no better time to get outdoors and explore Ontario’s natural beauty than while the weather is warm.
This Friday July 19 2024, provincial parks in Ontario will be offering free one-day admission to celebrate Healthy Parks Healthy People Day.
The global movement aims to promote the health benefits of spending time outside in nature.
“Spending time in nature is good for you. We feel this every time we step outside to hike, camp, paddle, or just be in natural spaces,” the website reads.
“A wide body of research supports the physical and mental benefits of nature.”
While admission fees to provincial parks typically range between $9 to $21 per vehicle, visitors will be able to get a free day permit to any of the 75 provincial parks.
Whether you want to spend a day lounging on the shores of North Beach Provincial Park or explore waterfalls at Arrowhead Provincial Park, the choice is yours.
In order to avoid disappointment, park visitors are encouraged to get their daily vehicle permit as soon as possible for Healthy Parks Healthy People Day, which opens up 5 days before the date of your visit. Therefore, permits are already open for Friday, so act fast!
