The workshops at Orris Labs begin with an introduction to a curated collection of luxury perfume accords—pre-crafted scent building blocks that form the foundation of a fragrance. You’ll learn how different accords and notes interact before creating your own blend.
Many participants draw inspiration from personal memories, photos, or meaningful objects, transforming those ideas into a custom scent. No experience is required; if you know what you like, you can take part. The process involves plenty of experimentation, with even a single drop of a new note capable of completely changing the character of a fragrance.
At the end of the workshop, you’ll leave with a 30 mL bottle of your custom fragrance. If you’d like more of your scent, you can upgrade to a larger 50 mL or 100 mL bottle. All materials are included, and Orris Labs also keeps your custom formula on file, making it easy to reorder your scent in the future. Their fragrances are crafted without parabens, phthalates, lyral, or lilial, using cruelty-free and sustainably sourced ingredients. The company is also proudly Canadian.
Orris Labs’ Toronto studio is located at 1333 Bay Street, with additional locations in Mississauga and Niagara-on-the-Lake. Workshops are offered throughout the year, with dates available online. Gift cards start at $100, making them a thoughtful option for anyone who seems to have everything. Private bookings are also available for bridal showers, birthdays, and corporate events. Sessions often fill up quickly during the holiday season.
