If the dropping temperatures and first few flurries of the season have you daydreaming of a cozy cabin escape, now you don’t even have to leave the city to find exactly that.
The Park Hyatt Toronto just opened their Holiday Bothy at the Park concept over the weekend, featuring a multi-sensory festive experience that will whisk you away to a luxe cottage getaway reminiscent of the Scottish Highlands.
If you’re not sure exactly what that entails, a ‘bothy’ is traditionally a distinctive shelter found in remote mountainous regions throughout Europe which provide respite for explorers.
While the Park Hyatt in the upscale Yorkville neighbourhood is a far cry from remote, from the moment you step through the enchanting door decorated with evergreen trees dusted in snow, it’s almost as if you’ve entered Narnia.
The rustic wood interiors are illuminated by candlelight, and design elements from antler chandeliers to sheepskin rugs all add to its comforting feel.
The food menu has a selection of small bites inspired by Canadian flavours, such as Venison Tartare, Fried Truffled Grilled Cheese, and Gingerbread Eggnog Cookie Sandwiches.
However, the hand-crafted cocktails might be the highlight of your stay, using seasonal ingredients with a festive twist. If you have a sweet tooth, there’s even a hot chocolate station to indulge in.
The one-of-a-kind experience is open now from Thursdays to Sundays until January 1, 2024. No reservations are required as it is walk-in only.
