If you’re searching for ways to add a touch of whimsy to your life, look no further! One local literary agency is turning personal stories into interactive art, bringing poetic magic in the form of intimate experiences to Toronto.
Poesy is quietly becoming one of the city’s most unique ways to connect through the written word. As the world’s only poet-powered events agency, the collective delivers immersive literary experiences that build genuine human connection and empower both individuals and major brands to tell their stories.

What started as a simple love for words and a single vintage typewriter has grown into a movement. Poesy operates on a beautiful philosophy: that writing is meant to be shared, and that everything they do should inspire joy in communities through shared written expression.
Toronto residents can experience everything from live, on-the-spot typewriter poetry to guided writing workshops. They also host live poetry and calligraphy events, writer’s room pop-ups, creative retreats and more.

Each interactive setup is designed to make creativity feel approachable, joyful, and deeply personal, bringing people together through small moments that leave a lasting impact.
They’ve already brought their signature literary experiences to some of the biggest high-energy brand moments in the city and beyond. You might have already spotted their poet-powered pop-ups collaborating with major names like Pinterest, Bumble, Sweat and Tonic.
Upcoming Events
If you want to experience the magic for yourself, you’re in luck! This weekend on Saturday, May 23, Poesy will be hosting Candlelight Letters: For the Classics, a two-hour multi-sensory literary experience in Toronto.
Taking place from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., the event invites guests to slow down and return to the oldest way people have written letters. Attendees will gather around hundreds of glowing LED candles and live music to craft messages by candlelight, utilizing traditional quills and paper, all finished with a classic wax seal.

To make the evening even sweeter, the ritual includes complimentary Prosecco, cheeses, and delicate bites to enjoy while you write. Roaming letter-writing experts will also be on-site to guide your process every step of the way, whether you’re a beginner or have been writing for years.
Tickets are priced at $79.50, and you’ll want to act fast; at the time of writing, only 3 spots remain. You can reserve your place at Candlelight Letters and find a full schedule of upcoming workshops by visiting the Poesy website.
