‘Tis the season for all things merry and bright, and the city is dazzling with Christmas lights and festive markets.
If you’re looking to change things up with a little daytrip from Toronto, the Royal Botanical Gardens (RBG) in Burlington has once again transformed into an enchanting winter wonderland with its annual Winter Wonders event.
Home to the largest botanical garden in Canada, RBG’s Hendrie Valley has been taken over with an immersive experience of lights, music, and interactive displays.
You’ll forget all about the cold as you stroll through the glittering installations illuminating the garden pathways, enhanced with live music performances and roaming entertainers.
Warm up with a hot beverage or holiday treat as you continue the experience indoors within their renovated Mediterranean Garden and the Breezeway, decked out in seasonal décor and vibrant plants.
Admire the elaborate Botanical Train Display, which features model trains on seven different tracks set amongst famous Canadian landmarks from across the country. Crafted entirely from plant-based materials, the whimsical exhibit is comprised over 2,500 plants!
Another standout feature is the Singing Tree, an interactive light display that responds to nearby sounds, creating a captivating and ever-changing visual spectacle.
On your way out, don’t forget to stop at The Garden Shop to find the perfect holiday gift for your loved ones (or yourself).
Winter Wonders runs every Thursday through Sunday from December 5 through January 5, with the exception of Thursday, December 26. Tickets are priced at $20 for adults and $16 for children.
