New year, new you!
January 1st is often seen as a day to embrace fresh beginnings, and what better way to kick it off than with an invigorating plunge into the icy waters of Lake Ontario?
“Polar bear dips” are an annual new year’s tradition around the world, but this year, Torontonians will attempt to break the cold plunge record together!
Jack.org, Unbounded, Othership, City Shred, Coldture, and Surf the Greats is inviting everyone to join them at Woodbine Beach on Wednesday, January 1, 2025, at 1 p.m. for the Record Breaker Cold Plunge in support of youth mental health.
Whether you’re an experienced cold-water enthusiast or a first-timer looking to step out of your comfort zone, this event welcomes everyone ready to make a difference.
Every dollar raised will go directly to Jack.org, a leading charity focused on youth mental health. By participating, you’ll be supporting vital programs and initiatives that empower young people across Canada.
If you’d like to join, register in advance for the charity plunge on Eventbrite. All you need to bring with you is a swimsuit, towel, and sense of adventure! And perhaps a warm change of clothes for after.
Also, the shoreline can be rocky, so water shoes are also recommended for your safety.
Get ready to brave the cold, embrace the challenge, and make a difference together!
For those who still want to attend but not do the cold plunge, you are still more than welcome to watch, and are encouraged to raise funds regardless of whether you enter the water.
We’ll see you there!
