If you love skating but aren’t crazy about the cold, Toronto is getting a new experience that might be right up your alley.
This December, a massive indoor roller skating area called Roller Express will open at Union Station, offering 5,500 sq ft of skating surface along with an illuminated tunnel trail to explore. The best part? It’s completely free!
Guests are welcome to bring their own roller skates, or rent them for free at Union Station along with protective equipment if needed. Just keep in mind that rentals are first come first served.
If you’ve never skated before, there will also be free lessons offered with instructors on Sundays from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., and Tuesday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Roller Express will take over the new TD West Carriageway for two months until February 4, and is open to all ages and abilities. Children under 12 however will need to be accompanied by a guardian.
On Friday evenings, stop by for live music by Union Beats DJ, or see the schedule for 19+ Beats & Boogie Skate nights. There will also be a range of immersive activities and activations provided by AriZona throughout its duration.
If you get hungry, grab a bite to eat at the onsite Snack Bar, with offerings from spots like Union Chicken, Amano, and Wvrst.
