One of the best food experiences you can have in Toronto this August is in a parking lot at a shopping mall in Scarborough. The Scarborough Asian Night Market returns to Scarborough Town Centre on August 7, 8, and 9 as part of the Ontario Asian Night Market Series, a province-wide circuit that has been growing every year. This is the Scarborough stop, and it consistently draws the best crowds of the summer.
The food is the main event. Expect vendors serving Hong Kong-style egg waffles made fresh to order, tanghulu fruit skewers glazed in crackled sugar, siu mai and dumplings steamed right in front of you, spiral potatoes on a stick, frozen yogurt bricks, and enough bubble tea variations to keep a spreadsheet. It’s the kind of lineup where you stop tracking what you’ve eaten and just keep going.
Beyond the food, the entertainment runs all three nights. Live traditional dances, contemporary music acts, and a DJ set that takes over late in the evening give the whole thing a proper festival energy rather than a typical food fair vibe.

Shopping vendors run alongside the food stalls with artisanal crafts, fashion accessories, and cultural goods worth browsing. There is also a Kid’s Zone with a bouncy castle, face painting, and games and a Claw Machine Zone that will be responsible for at least fifteen minutes of your evening whether you planned it or not.
Admission is free. Parking at Scarborough Town Centre is free. Most vendors accept cards, but bringing cash saves you a step at busy stalls. Arrive by 6pm on the first night to get ahead of the queues that build once word gets around. The market runs into the night, so there is no rush, but the freshest batches of everything come early.
