It looks like everyone’s favourite ogre is officially bringing his swamp to Toronto, with Shrek The Musical coming to our city later this summer.
You’re invited to “fall in love all ogre again” while you laugh and sing-along with the grumpy but lovable green giant, Donkey, Fiona, and all his friends and foes.
“With all-new original direction and choreography by Danny Mefford (Choreographer, Dear Evan Hansen) filled with lush orchestrations, this reimagined production brings the show back to its roots – giving it a new kind of love emphasizing the importance of loving ourselves and one another”, the site reads.
As the only Canadian pitstop on the tour, you’ll have just under 2 weeks to catch it in Toronto, so grab your tickets soon which are now on sale!
The all-new production is brought to you by Fifth Estate Entertainment and Round Room Live, and promises to “deliver a more intimate and engaging experience” than the original musical, which opened on Broadway back in 2008.
Coming to the Princess of Wales Theatre, Shrek The Musical runs from August 6 – 18 for six nights a week, as well as matinee shows on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
