Today, January 29, marks the first official day of the Lunar New Year, and Toronto is welcoming the Year of the Snake in a number of exciting ways.
With the celebrations lasting for 15 days until the arrival of the full moon, we’ve got yet another event to add to your list – and it’s free to attend!
This Sunday, February 2, STACKT Market is hosting its first Lunar New Year Market, featuring local vendors, delicious food and drink, live demonstrations, and so much more.
Kicking off at noon at Blue Moon Brewery, visitors will be treated to a curated selection of artisans to explore, selling everything from traditional Chinese herbal soups and handcrafted drinks to live Tarot readings.
Learn about the art of dumpling making with a live demonstration and attend a cookbook signing by renowned Chef Trevor Lui, which will take place from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Fuel up on delicious specials from Fat Bao Eats, including Longevity Noodle Bowls or their Prosperity Dumplings, priced at a lucky $8.88.
While you digest, kick back and enjoy a screening of East Asian-themed movies including “Hello” or “Crazy Rich Asians”, or vibe to the beats of DJ Nari.
There’s also going to be traditional Korean board games to play with friends, so you can easily spend the whole afternoon there.
