Toronto’s iconic Woodbine Mall is getting a nostalgic new attraction as Canadian roller skating company SUSO Skate Co. will soon transform part of the struggling shopping centre into an indoor roller rink.
The project fits right into SUSO’s signature approach: turning empty mall retail spaces into lively pop-up rinks where people can skate, socialize, and make the most of unexpected venues. Soon, the desolate mall floor will be reimagined into a sleek, neon-lit canvas for skaters of all skill levels.
Designed to bring the joyful, offline nostalgia of 80s skate culture back to the GTA, this new pop-up pairs smooth, indoor rolling with good tunes and retro aesthetic vibes.
The rink welcomes everyone from complete beginners trying out quad skates for the first time to seasoned pros showing off their best moves. While all-ages sessions run throughout the week, adults can also look forward to dedicated 16+ skate nights on Friday evenings, perfect for a retro date night or outing with friends.
Session pricing starts at $18 for a one-hour skate rental, which includes admission alongside wrist guards for safety. Have your own pair of roller skates? You can bring your own gear and jump on the floor for just $14.
The attraction will take over space on the mall’s lower level, directly across from CinéStarz Deluxe and next to Fantasy Fair – a Toronto icon that seems trapped in time. It officially opens to the public on September 25, bringing a new reason to visit one of Etobicoke’s most recognizable and increasingly unconventional malls.
You’ll find the newest SUSO Skate location at 500 Rexdale Blvd., running Wednesdays through Sundays with various evening and weekend time slots. Skaters are encouraged to reserve their time slots online in advance through the official SUSO Skate Co. website to guarantee a spot on the floor.
