Roller skating is back for the summer, and this year, the city has a new outdoor roller skating destination – and it’s on a rooftop!
Ontario-based touring roller rink company SUSO Skate has just opened a retro-inspired skating rink at the CF Shops at Don Mills. Taking over their Parkade Rooftop, the area features a bright yellow skating surface, colourful decor, and is surrounded by North York’s skyline.
There will also be throwback hit tunes bumping to set the mood for your roller skating session.
Having opened this past weekend on May 4, the rink is open Wednesdays through Sundays. All ages are welcome at select times on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. There are also adults-only hours on Wednesdays through Saturdays.
You are welcome to bring your own roller skating equipment, but if you don’t own any, they have skates to rent on site.
Skate rentals start at $18 for an hour and include wrist guards and admission. For those with skates, admission-only starts from $12 for kids under 16, and $14 for adults.
SUSO has been transforming unique spaces into pop-up roller rinks which are typically underused or empty. They currently also have a roller rink at Brampton’s Bramalea City Centre, which you can visit until June 2.
The rooftop skating rink isn’t the only exciting thing coming to the CF Shops at Don Mills. Eataly will soon open the city’s third location at the shopping centre on May 30.
Perfect timing to treat yourself with a delicious Italian meal after working up a sweat at the roller rink!
