Another delicious street festival is shutting down a major Toronto roadway this weekend, full of global flavours, music, and sports.
The Taste of Lawrence returns starting today through Sunday, July 5, standing proud as Scarborough’s largest street festival.
Lawrence Avenue East has once again been transformed into a sprawling, three-day block party stretching between Warden Avenue and Birchmount Road. Spanning multiple city blocks, the stretch will host over 170 street vendors serving up a variety of international food options alongside thrilling midway rides and family amusements.
While the main attraction is the incredible lineup of global eats, this year’s edition is also leaning into the buzz of FIFA with a brand-new addition, the TOL Soccer Hub. Created in celebration of the world’s biggest game, this interactive zone features a mini street pitch, free workshops, giant LED foosball, and massive outdoor watch parties screening international matches all weekend long.
Beyond the food and sports, the weekend features non-stop live entertainment across two huge stages. Visitors can catch multicultural dance processions, the Rising Stars talent showcase, and crowd-favourite acts like The Ultimutts stunt dog show. The festivities officially kick off on Friday evening with a grand opening ceremony and a parade starting at 6:00 p.m.
The festival is also completely free to attend, so you can explore the grounds, enjoy the concerts, or hang out at the soccer hub without spending a dime.
The Taste of Lawrence will take over Lawrence Avenue East from Friday, July 3 until Sunday, July 5. The gates open at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, and 11:00 a.m. on both Saturday and Sunday.
