Happy birthday, Toronto!
In honour of the city’s 192nd birthday, a huge winter festival will take over the heart of downtown. Taking place on Saturday March 7, Nathan Phillips Square will transform into the city’s ultimate party destination for the “Celebrate Toronto” festival. This free, all-ages event has become a local favourite for honoring our city’s rich history while showcasing the best of its modern creative spirit.

The square will be buzzing with energy from 3 p.m. until 10 p.m., featuring a sprawling 6,000-square-foot Toronto Made Market. Here, you can wander through stalls from over 100 local vendors and artisans, offering a perfect opportunity to support homegrown businesses while snagging unique local finds.
One of the day’s most anticipated highlights is the DJ Skate Party presented by Mirvish Productions. Attendees are invited to lace up their skates and glide around the iconic outdoor rink dressed as their favorite characters from legendary Mirvish shows, ranging from The Sound of Music to Hamilton.

Foodies, be sure to come hungry, as the festival will host a variety of food stalls serving up global street food that reflects the diverse multicultural fabric of our city. For those 19 and older, a licensed Beer Garden will be serving up local craft beers and spirits to help toast to nearly two centuries of Toronto history.
To cap off the party, a dazzling fireworks show will light up the sky above City Hall. The display is scheduled to begin at 9 p.m. sharp, providing a breathtaking finale to the birthday festivities.
The Celebrate Toronto festival kicks off at 3 p.m. on March 7 at 100 Queen St. W. Admission is completely free, and you can view the full schedule of live musical performances and set times on the Celebrate Toronto website.
