It’s Mid-November and Christmas is just around the corner. This holidy season marks the return of the hustle and bustle of holiday shopping, dazzling Christmas light displays, and markets for the whole family. One of the city’s favorite holiday markets is the Toronto Christmas Market that takes over the Distillery District and we’re excited to see its return.
Starting Thursday, Nov. 16, the Distillery Winter Village will kick off with the annual tree lighting ceremony at 6pm that you won’t want to miss. As usual, you can expect live performances, Christmas cheer and photo-opps, and holiday snacks and drinks to warm you up. The market will feature a ton of twinkling, glowing lights, Christmas trees, pop up stands selling holiday gifts, a gorgeous immersive art installation, and holiday photo opps to capture another year of memories.
If that wasn’t enough to convince you, it was also ranked as one of the top Christmas villages in the world, alongside Christmas markets in places like Austria, Czech Republic, and Hungary.
The market will be open daily until December 31st (aside from Christmas Day) and is open from 10am to 10pm. GA tickets start at $15 (kids age 9 and under are free) but if you arrive between 10am-4pm, admission is free!
Since the market usually is busiest from 5-9pm, we suggest going during the weekdays or avoiding peak hours.
With that being said, we’ll see you there later this week for the tree lighting ceremony.
