So long, summer weather!
Toronto residents are in for a dramatic change in weather this week after a record-breaking warm October weekend reminiscent of summer.
The Weather Network has reported that the southern Ontario is in for a sharp drop in temperatures mid-week, thanks to a strong cold front moving through the province.
The cold front arrived today bringing a mix of showers throughout the day, with localized heavy downpours. Once it passes, Toronto will shift to typical autumn conditions, with daytime highs dropping to around 12 degrees on Thursday – a stark contrast against Monday’s sunshine and highs nearing 28 to 30 degrees in the city.
Thursday will mark Toronto’s coldest daytime temperature since May 22, 2025, with the possibility of frost appearing especially in suburban and rural areas surrounding the city.
However, temperatures are expected to rebound slightly as we head into the Thanksgiving long weekend. Starting Friday, daytime highs could reach the high teens or even low 20s, with plenty of sunshine in store for the coming week.
Looking ahead, the latter half of October in Toronto is expected to trend closer to seasonal averages, although overall temperatures may remain slightly above normal compared to historical averages.
