The Toronto International Dragon Boat Race Festival is officially returning to Centre Island this June, bringing two straight days of thrilling races, delicious food, and cultural celebrations to the Toronto harbour.
Guests will get to observe over 100 teams from across the globe race in colourful, decorated boats, paddling in perfect synchronization to the beat of pounding drums. The 500-metre race course along the island’s shores turns into a battleground for athletes, while the island itself transforms into a sprawling festival footprint for spectators.

Between races, you can wander through a marketplace packed with local artisan vendors, fuel up at a lineup of delicious food stalls, or catch live heritage performances, martial arts demonstrations, and interactive cultural showcases.
Best of all? It’s completely free to watch! Hop on a ferry and enjoy a weekend in the sun, it’s the perfect way to kick off the season.

The Toronto International Dragon Boat Race Festival will take over Centre Island on June 13 and 14, with the action scheduled to kick off early each morning. You can catch a short ferry ride over from the Jack Layton Ferry Terminal to join in on the fun, and you can find the full race schedule and performance lineup on the GWN Dragon Boat website.
