Toronto’s biggest Bavarian-themed party is officially back on!
After funding constraints forced organizers to cancel the 2025 festivities, Toronto Oktoberfest is officially making its highly anticipated comeback for 2026 in a new location.
The beloved Munich-style festival will take over Garrison Common at Fort York this year, taking place on September 25 and 26. Spanning a giant space, the historic site will be festively decked out with traditional long communal tables and Bavarian decor. A massive stage and dance floor will then host non-stop entertainment for all who gather under the tent.
Guests will be treated to lively polka music, Schuhplattler dancers, German rock cover bands, and appearances by traditional entertainers. This year’s festivities kick off Friday evening with the classic Tapping of the Keg, followed by a family-friendly Volksfest Carnival on Saturday afternoon, and the rowdy Ein Prosit Closing Party to end the weekend.
While you’ll need to grab a ticket to get in, early guests are in for a special treat. The first 500 attendees to walk through the doors for each session will score a free glass beer stein to take home.
Guests are also strongly encouraged to pull out their favourite lederhosen and dirndls for the occasion. Cold craft pours, authentic soft pretzels, and classic bratwurst will be flowing standard before each evening comes to a close.
