Released by Travel + Leisure, the annual rankings serve as a definitive guide to the world’s most exceptional travel experiences, shaped entirely by the people who know them best: the travellers themselves.
Since opening its doors in 2012, the Four Seasons Hotel Toronto’s flagship property has been one of the city’s most breathtaking sanctuaries, nestled right in the city’s premier shopping district.
Home to a state-of-the-art fitness centre and the only five-star rated spa in the city, the Four Seasons has been a lavish haven right on Yorkville Avenue. And according to the world’s top travel experts, it’s officially one of the best places to stay in the entire country.
In its 31st year, the prestigious survey saw more than 207,000 readers cast a staggering 661,000 votes, evaluating over 10,000 properties globally. While the highly competitive Canadian city hotels category saw significant dominance from historic and luxury properties across British Columbia and Quebec, Ontario secured a major victory. The Four Seasons Hotel Toronto proudly claimed the ninth spot on the top 10 list, standing as the sole hotel in the entire city to make the cut.
Earning a spectacular reader score of 89.05 out of 100, the urban retreat stood out to global travelers for its seamless blend of contemporary elegance, authentic sense of place, and unparalleled hospitality. The recognition reinforces the hotel’s long-standing reputation for top-tier service, which also includes its renowned in-house spa and the acclaimed French brasserie, Café Boulud.
The rest of Canada’s top 10 list features heavy competition from coast to coast. The legendary Fairmont Empress in Victoria, British Columbia, captured the number one spot as the best city hotel in the country, followed closely by the Rosewood Hotel Georgia in Vancouver and Auberge Saint-Antoine in Quebec City.
Other notable entries include Montreal’s Ritz-Carlton and Four Seasons properties, as well as Quebec City’s iconic Fairmont Le Château Frontenac.
