The beach at Turkey Point Provincial Park stretches for two kilometres along Long Point Bay. It offers soft sand and calm, sheltered waters that make swimming gentle. A buoyed swimming area offers a safer space for children, and while there are no lifeguards on duty, free life jackets are available to borrow through the park’s PFD Lending Program.
Despite being a popular summer destination in Norfolk County, the beach still feels relaxed and welcoming, with more of a local, small-town atmosphere than a busy tourist hotspot.
The park protects one of Ontario’s northernmost Carolinian forest ecosystems, with hickory, oak, and other species uncommon in much of the province. The 2.2-kilometre Lookout Bluff Trail leads to panoramic views of Long Point Bay in under an hour.
More to Explore
The park is also the only one in the Ontario Parks system with its own nine-hole golf course, adding another unique reason to visit beyond the beach.
If you’re looking to get out on the water, nearby outfitters offer kayak, stand-up paddleboard, and Sea-Doo rentals, as well as boats and flyboarding. The nearby marina offers boat launching, while anglers can fish from the breakwall beside it. The village close by has several dining options, and the campground features shaded forested sites, including a radio-free area for a quieter stay.
Whether you’re swimming, hiking, paddling, or simply relaxing by the shore, there’s more than enough here to fill an entire day.
