Toronto’s waterfront is once again sparkling for the holidays, with the return of Winterfest at Harbourfront Centre for their second year!
If you’re searching for somewhere to embrace the magic of the holidays, look no further; the area has transformed into a winter wonderland, complete with twinkling lights, food, music, and free performances all season long.
The season kicked off over the weekend with a dazzling tree lighting ceremony of their spectacular 33-foot holiday tree on November 28, as well as the opening of the newly-expanded Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities Rink.

From now through March 1, 2026, you can ice skate for free by the waterfront, with skates and equipment available for rent directly onsite.
Alongside the ice rink, two new attractions made their debut, including the Harbourfront Express mini train and a sprawling Winter Wooden Maze. Guests can aslowander through an illuminated light tunnel, sip hot chocolate from seasonal vendors, indulge in delicious comfort food in Winter Feast Lane, or encounter roving performers who animate the grounds with spontaneous moments of music and theatre.

Stop by on a Saturday night of one of their DJ Skate Nights, or check their event calendar for this season’s line-up of live entertainment. You might even see the quirky Alpine Merry Sheep Choir!
Finally, to cap off the festival, Winterfest will culminate in a huge New Year’s Eve celebration featuring live music, fireworks supported by the City of Toronto, and a nationally broadcast CBC countdown to 2026.
