Outdoor live music in the summer can’t be beat, especially when it’s free!
This weekend on August 9 and 10, Wavelength Summer Thing is bringing its lakeside festival experience back to Ontario Place’s Trillium Park for two nights of music, immersive art, interactive displays, food vendors, and more.
The festival welcomes visitors of all-ages festival, and features a diverse lineup of Canadian talent spanning indie folk, psychedelic electronica, poetic hip-hop, and more. From Halifax to Montreal and Chicago to Toronto, Wavelength Summer Thing showcases the best in emerging and experimental sounds.
On Saturday, August 9, attendees can catch a high-energy, multi-sensory set from Rich Aucoin, followed by Moonbean’s live synth dance party, soulful hip-hop from Odario, art-pop grooves from Marker Starling, and pop vibes by Thanya Iyer. DJ Nico will keep the energy flowing with a retro ‘60s soul party.
Sunday, August 10 brings singer-songwriter Charlotte Cornfield, Chicago-based FINOM, gothic rockers Ace of Wands, indie folk standout Le Ren, and scrappy indie-rock from Baby O. Reggae and dub tunes by Vas of Higher Heights HiFi close out the weekend on a chill note.
Aside from the music, there is so much more to experience at this year’s festival. Wander through the interactive art installations, sweat it out in Public Sweat’s mobile sauna, shop the indie vendor market, and indulge in a number of delicious food vendors.
There will also be a licensed bar by Great Lakes Brewery on site for those 19+, as well as campfires once the sun goes down.
The event kicks off each day from 5 p.m. and ends at 11 p.m., rain or shine. Visit their website here to find out more details!
