What is “We call it Jazz”?
This 60-minute performance of popular jazz classics captures the essence of the spirited genre. Guests will be transported to a 1920s New Orleans, as they enjoy talented jazz musicians and vocalists work their magic on a stage that mimics a street-style bar. Expect a curated set that includes swing, blistering bebop, as well as fiery improvised solos. Add in a fiery Sidecar or your drink of choice, and you’ve got a night of sophisticated fun.
Jazz, its story and the show
Jazz originated in the late 19th and early 20th centuries in the most populous city in Louisiana, a melting pot of African, Caribbean, and European cultures and musical traditions. It stemmed from African American communities, with roots in work songs, blues, and ragtime.
